Chadron, NE Tractor Show and Rodeo May 23rd The Mercantile's CHADRON, NE store held a Tractor Rodeo and Show on May 23rd, in conjunction with the Highway 20 Classic Tractor Club. Lots of fun and food and items on sale, plus a bean bag toss, obstacle course and so much more.
Free soil testing from Poudre Valley Co-op Poudre Valley Coop Logo The Mercantile was pleased to once again partner with our friends at Poudre Valley Co-op to provide soil testing for our neighbors. Soil testing took place from April-June, 2009, and greatly benefited not only our farmers and ranchers, but also are home gardeners with the information they needed to create the perfect soil enviornment fof their needs this year. Radar, the world's tallest horse, photo copyright by Drew GardnerRadar is a Belgian Draft Horse featured in the 2006 Guinness World Record Book as the Tallest Living Horse.   Radar Stands 19 Hands 3 1/2 Inches (6' 7 1/2" at the withers) and weighs over 2,400 lbs.  Radar eats 18 lbs. of grain, 40 lbs. of hay, and drinks 20 gallons of water each day.   Radar, a gelding, was born in 1998 in Iowa.

He was at our Spearfish, SD store on 8/17 and at our Loveland, CO store on 8/19. He was at our Torrington, WY store on October 13 and our Scottsbluff, NE store on October 14.
